In almost every religion, including Christianity, the priesthood has been a central tenet of religion with their claim that “Man needs them to get to God”, and “God uses them to get to man”. The fact that a man could be the “mediator” between God and man is displayed throughout the Bible, finally culminating with Jesus Christ as the one eternal high priest and mediator. As Christ, the man, has assumed the office of high priest, we find ourselves needing no mediator or priest other than the one who sacrificed Himself for His people. The result is direct access to God by our priest, Jesus Christ
